Forever 18

FOREVER 18 honours Amberly’s life and legacy through music, creativity, and community connection. Created by Amby’s Army, this annual fundraiser brings people together to remember Amberly, raise awareness for youth mental health, support suicide prevention, and help young people access the support they need.

In January 2023, Amberly celebrated her 18th birthday surrounded by friends, laughter, and music—an evening that reflected everything she loved. A gifted and passionate musician, she ensured live performances were at the heart of the celebration. Her father’s duo, Shanks Pony, and her friend Rosalie Chilvers performed, while Amberly herself took to the stage to share one of her original songs. Already an accomplished flautist and violinist, and developing her skills on piano and guitar, she brought creativity, warmth, and quiet determination to everything she did.

Just two months later, Amberly tragically lost her battle with mental health.

In January 2024, her family, friends, and community came together to honour what would have been her 19th birthday by recreating that special night. It was more than a gathering—it was a space for remembrance, connection, and shared healing.

Through music and storytelling, those who loved Amberly were able to celebrate her life while supporting one another through grief. The impact of the evening was profound, and it became clear that this tribute needed to continue.

From this, FOREVER 18 was born.

First held as a public event in March 2025 at Clancy’s Fish Pub in Fremantle, FOREVER 18 has grown into an annual fundraiser led by Amby’s Army. Each year, it brings together artists, supporters, and the wider community to honour Amberly’s life in the way she would have loved—through music, creativity, and connection.

At its heart, FOREVER 18 is about more than remembrance. It is about purpose. It provides vital support to Amby’s Army in raising awareness of youth mental health, promoting suicide prevention, and helping young people access the support they need. It is also a powerful reminder that behind every cause is a story, a family, and a community determined to make a difference.

Amberly remains FOREVER 18. Through this event, her spirit continues to inspire compassion, conversation, and hope—ensuring that her legacy lives on in every life it touches.
